โœง Raj Malhotraโ€™s POV โœง

Fucking rogue bastards. How dare they attack my pack? When I arrived at the scene, my Beta, Naman, and Gamma, Varun, were already fighting them off. There were over a hundred of them, and I could feel the anger boiling inside me.

I shifted into my wolf form, my massive black wolf ripping through their ranks like a storm. Limbs flew, and blood splattered everywhere. The fucking cowardsโ€”half of them ran away, abandoning their comrades to face my wrath. I didn't stop until the ground was soaked with blood. Even after the last rogue fell, I could barely contain my rage. I needed to shower; my blood was boiling with fury.

When Naman and Varun approached me, they were just as drenched in blood, wearing only shorts. I shifted back into my human form, standing naked under the moonlight. Varun tossed me a pair of shorts, which I slipped on quickly, the adrenaline still pumping through my veins.

"How many are injured?" I demanded, my voice laced with anger.

Naman wiped blood from his brow and replied, "At least half the pack. I've sent them to Dev for treatment."

Varunโ€™s face was unusually tense. I turned to him, sensing something was off. "What happened, Varun?"

He looked at me, his eyes filled with worry. "Riyaโ€™s sister injured, Raj. Sheโ€™s hurt badly. You know how it is when your mateโ€™s in pain...you feel it too," he said, his voice almost cracking.

I placed a firm hand on his shoulder, offering some silent support. He nodded, his jaw clenched, and we walked back to the pack house.

After a quick, hot shower, trying to wash away the blood and the rage, I couldnโ€™t stop thinking about the sweet scent I had noticed earlier.

"Why didnโ€™t you ask Mr. Mahajan about our mate?" my wolf growled, frustration evident in his tone.

"I'm the boss here," I snapped back. "Weโ€™ll find our mate soon enough. If I start questioning him, heโ€™ll think I'm losing my mind."

My wolf snarled in defiance, clearly not satisfied with my response. I sighed, my mind still lingering on that intoxicating scent as sleep finally claimed me.

โœง Lavanya's POV โœง

Dhruv and I had hit the club, flashing our VIP passes like they were badges of honor. We danced until we were drenched in sweat, completely wasted, enjoying every moment of our wild night. When he finally dropped me off at my apartment, we exchanged tipsy goodbyes, laughter still bubbling between us.

The last two months had been an emotional rollercoaster, and tonight was just another ride. But when I opened the door to my apartment, something didnโ€™t feel right.

Tanu was home, but she was limping, her wrist bleeding as she stepped out of the bathroom. I blinked hard, rubbing my eyes, thinking I was seeing things. Maybe it was the alcohol. But she didnโ€™t even notice me, just walked like nothing happened.

Confused, I collapsed onto the couch, trying to make sense of what Iโ€™d just seen. About twenty minutes later, Tanu emerged from her room, looking perfectly fine. She flashed me a lazy smile as she asked, "When did you get here?"

"Just a few minutes ago,"

I mumbled, still trying to shake off the strange feeling. She nodded and left the room without another word.

I wanted to ask her about her wrist, but she seemed completely normal now. I didnโ€™t want to sound like a lunatic, so I let it slide.

Still feeling a bit uneasy, I took a shower. The faint scent of blood lingered in the bathroom, but I was too out of it to give it much thought. I tapped my cheeks lightly, trying to wake myself up before I stumbled to bed. Sleep came almost instantly, my mind too tired to process anything further.

โœง Author's POV โœง

The weekend flew by in a blur of Netflix marathons, indulging in comfort food, and a fun trip to the amusement park with Dhruv. But Monday arrived all too soon, bringing back the dreaded routine.

As Lavanya walked onto her floor at work, the sight of Miss Sharma, her supervisor, waiting with a disapproving glare greeted her.

"Youโ€™re late, Miss Mithal," Miss Sharma stated, her tone dripping with displeasure.

Lavanya glanced at her watch, seeing that she was only three minutes late.

"Iโ€™m only three minutes late," she said, frustration seeping into her voice.

"Miss Mithal, be professional," Miss Sharma snapped before turning on her heel and walking away. Lavanya muttered, "What a bitch," under her breath, her mood souring instantly.

Manav, her colleague, noticed her irritation. "Miss Sharma giving you trouble again?" he asked, his tone sympathetic.

Lavanya nodded, slumping into her chair. Manav chuckled softly, but a sharp glare from Lavanya quickly shut him up. "Sorry," he muttered, returning to his work.

During lunch, Lavanyaโ€™s phone buzzed with a text from Dhruv:

Dhruv: I made kimbap for you. Come to my office before lunch ends.

Dhruv: And come after eating your lunch. I didnโ€™t make enough to fill your black hole.

Lavanya smiled at the playful nickname he had for her. After finishing her work, she headed to the cafeteria to grab a quick lunch with Manav and Chetra.

They were deep in conversation when Lavanya interrupted them with a knock on the table. "Whatโ€™s going on?" she asked, sensing a serious discussion.

Manav looked up, his expression somber. "We heard there are werewolves in the forest nearby."

Chetra shivered. "Yeah, people say theyโ€™ve heard howls and seen strange creatures shifting into human form."

Lavanya laughed, finding their fear amusing. "Werewolves? You guys are hilarious."

Manav leaned in, his voice dropping to a whisper. "Weโ€™re serious, Lavanya."

"Yeah, and Iโ€™m their queen," she joked, bursting into laughter. Manav and Chetra exchanged worried looks, but eventually, they joined in the laughter, the tension dissipating.

After lunch, Lavanya decided to visit Dhruvโ€™s office. He hadnโ€™t joined them for lunch, busy with an important project. When she reached his floor, Dhruv waved her over, greeting her with a warm smile. They sat together, laughing about Manav and Chetraโ€™s wild imaginations.

Once they finished eating, Dhruv sighed, pushing his empty container aside.

"Okay, Lavanya, I have to get back to work. I need to prepare a special presentation for Mr. Malhotra later."

Lavanyaโ€™s thoughts drifted to Raj Malhotra, the CEO. She felt a shiver run down her spine but decided not to voice her concerns. "Good luck," she said instead, giving Dhruv an encouraging smile.

As she was about to leave, Dhruv stopped her. "Wait for me at the entrance after work," he said. She nodded, giving him a quick hug before heading back to her floor, hoping the day would pass quickly.

---

Lavanya waited at the entrance for Dhruv, her patience wearing thin as the minutes ticked by. Ten minutes passed before she saw him limping towards her, his face clouded with distress.

Her heart sank as she realized something must be seriously wrong. Her mind raced, jumping to conclusions. Had something happened with their boss?

Dhruvโ€™s expression was troubled as he reached her. Without a word, she pulled him into a tight hug, her concern overwhelming.

"What happened, Dhruv? Are you okay?" she asked, her voice tinged with worry.

Before Dhruv could answer, someone cleared their throat behind them.

Lavanya turned to see Raj Malhotra, the CEO, standing before them. He was an imposing figureโ€”tall, with dark, intense eyes, broad shoulders, and a perfectly tailored suit that made him look almost godlike.

"Good evening, Mr. Malhotra," Dhruv stammered, his voice shaky.

Lavanyaโ€™s breath caught in her throat. She had seen from far, Raj Malhotra, but in person, he was even more intimidating.

His presence was magnetic, commanding attention without a single word. But what unnerved her the most was the way his eyes lingered on her hand, still holding Dhruvโ€™s.

Rajโ€™s expression darkened, his gaze piercing as he looked at their intertwined hands. Lavanya quickly pulled her hand away, feeling a strange mix of fear and defiance.

"Shameless pervert," she muttered under her breath as she dragged Dhruv, hurriedly left the building.

But as they walked away, an uneasy feeling settled in Lavanyaโ€™s chest. She couldnโ€™t shake the sensation that this encounter was only the beginning of something much darker.
